May be, but you sure made him a star here. The pose is beautyful and that kind of lighting confirm he is the star. I don't know if you did it in automatic focussing but, if so, it is a very good success. Because many time the autofocus refuse to operate correctly with too many things in front of the subject. Like the mood of the picture as well.
Thanks for the comments Yves, I did use auto focus and had been panning the shot and tried to stay on the head which seemed for the most part to be above the grasses.
Very well captured through the tall grasses in their autumn colours Debra. You caught him in a great pose with excellent eye contact and a nice view of his antlers too. I especially like photos of wildlife through the tall grasses which can be challenging to capture sometimes but they add another very special element to the image. Well done.
