Description
It was almost too hot out yesterday to be lugging my camera around but since I was in the area I decided to pop into the park to check on the Cormorants. They have a particular tree above the creek where they've always hung out. I managed to spot three of them with open beaks quivering constantly but it was something I hadn't seen before. On checking further I found out that it is called the ‘gular flutter’ and it's what Cormorants, Herons and Great Horned Owls do to beat the heat.
