Thank you Jeff , nothing like Wood Ducks for colour.

Debra Plett

Great shot Bernie. Perfect lighting really shows on this couple. Nice that spring has arrived and the birds are on their way back.

Thank you Debra. Yes, spring is always a welcome season. This pair stayed a week in the location where I found them but have since moved on . . .

Clifford Dupuis

Beautiful shot of this mating pair. Yay have caught the plumage of the male perfectly and in a great setting

Thank you Clifford. Unfortunately, they have moved on and we won't see the arrival of the 2022 crop of new Woodies.

We have been blessed - last week the local duck pond welcomed a pair of returning Woodies - to add much colour and interest to the normal population of Blacks and Mallards. When one has not seen Wood Ducks for a while, their vivid plumage strikes fresh feelings of wonder and appreciation. This was taken last week on Thursday - today they have gone to find a hidden nesting site.
