Such a beautiful shot, Debra. The grass provides the perfect contrast and it's all about the Eagle. I'm amazed that he was able to haul such a large carcass across the ground, what a powerful bird. Great story and capture!

Thx Heather, Yes the Eagle was very determined to get the carcass down into the bottom of the ditch not just off the shoulder.

Nice shot Debra. They are so beautyful in flight. There is a price to pay. Nice shot showing walking is not easy for them. Very well done.

Thanks very much Yves, the Eagle was not threatened at all by the other birds maybe just pestered. He wasn’t about to give up on lunch especially after he managed to drag the Raccoon from the highway.

Description
The Bald Eagle moved away from the Raccoon carcass displaying their very awkward gait. At this point I left him to defend his food against the incoming Ravens and Magpie's.
