Thank you Jeff. I love growing roses, they're easy keepers and fun to photograph too :)
You are so good at those shots with a simple subjet that is so well captured that it drag me in reflexion mode, You gently suggest a theme and from there I go everywhere. Thanks. Where you conscious before the shot of the way the background would appears so nicely to uplift the rose?
Thank you, Yves. I felt at the time that the background set the feature rose off well and went with the angle. I did a number of angle shots on it and this one turned out the best but I think the fact that it's one of the last rose shots I'll be getting this year added another element to the image and I really appreciate that you viewed it that way too.
So happy to know that you did many trial. Knowing you I guess the nightmare was to chose only one.
So true Yves! That happens every now and then and I struggle with which one to share. This photo popped out at me when I went through them so it wasn't hard to decide on it.. but that certainly isn't always the case and I'm sure you can relate. I've got lots of photos that I never did decide on.. just waiting, lol.
Beautiful composition, Heather! The rose in the back balances the main subject. The green in the background balances the leaves. I like the light and shadow areas and the texture in the main petal.
Thank you, Harold. I think the lighting brought out the best in this one. Roses are fun to photograph, I don't have to go far to find them and it helps me keep track of them from year to year too.
Captivating image Heather. The depth of field and bokeh definitely make this rose and your image a show stopper. I agree with you on the assignment categories.
Thank you so much, Debra! I think the Aurora Borealis is going to win out this year, it just got another nice bud on it :)
