Yves Langlois

You are so good at those shots with a simple subjet that is so well captured that it drag me in reflexion mode, You gently suggest a theme and from there I go everywhere. Thanks. Where you conscious before the shot of the way the background would appears so nicely to uplift the rose?

Harold Fleming

Beautiful composition, Heather! The rose in the back balances the main subject. The green in the background balances the leaves. I like the light and shadow areas and the texture in the main petal.

Thank you, Harold. I think the lighting brought out the best in this one. Roses are fun to photograph, I don't have to go far to find them and it helps me keep track of them from year to year too.

Debra Plett

Captivating image Heather. The depth of field and bokeh definitely make this rose and your image a show stopper. I agree with you on the assignment categories.

Description
The last few petals made a nice showing on this George Vancouver Explorer rose in my garden. It's still competing with the Aurora Borealis rose to see which one will last the longest. It would be nice if we had a few more assignment options like we used to have on the site. They seem so limited now..
