The vulture on a dead tree is already a bad sign. In black and white, kind of end of the day, make it more sinister. Just missing the frightening music and the zoom on the nest. Like very much those shot that tell a story. Two years ago I saw the opposite. 4 crows where harassing an osprey that was just trying to eat a fish in peace..
Thank you Yves always appreciate your comments. Music most definitely would add to the sinister atmosphere.
That tree would make nearly any photo eerie, Debra. It sure is a knarly old thing and works well in this photo alongside the vulture. They are both persistent birds, the crows and the vulture. It's hard to say which one would come out on top unless there were a lot of crows, a murder as it were.
Eerie and a bit of an ominous mood about it too, like he's up to something. The silhouette of the vulture and tree stand out very dramatically against the high key background here. An excellent capture, Debra, and your narrative helps to explain the situation.. I hope the crows were able to divert his attention away from their nest too :)
Thank you for your comments Heather. I believe the vulture was trying to get at one of the juvenile crows. The parent crows did chase him off the tree and hopefully out of the area.
