Gorgeous shot Heather. I really like the front view and the slight tilt to the butterfly. The flowers and butterfly really stand out beautiful on the three colour background. Stunning.
Thank you Debra, I really appreciate your feedback. I went out early that morning in hopes of seeing an admirals or even a mourning cloak but this little guy certainly didn't disappoint :)
Great frontal, Heather! I love the complete background especially where the blue is placed in the frame. I also like that many of the spirea flowers are not fully open yet. This seems to give more importance to the butterfly.
Thank you so much, Harold. I was pleased with how this one turned out even though I didn't get a great overall view of the little butterfly the background colors and blossoms helped to accentuate him nicely in what I could see of him. As soon as I got this photo he was gone.
Thanks for your comment it's much appreciated, Yves. I took this one very early this morning not long after the sun came up so the background item, a turquoise cat ornament that stands on a planter in the middle of the bush, and the foliage blurred out in the shadows.. the rest was blank space. I like using a 300 mm lens so these little creatures don't fly off and I find the early morning light works best for shots like this.
Wow! Astonishing compo of colours. Split diagonal with the dark blue on one side and yellow-green on the other. Flowers creating nice fluffy white balls with the hero on top. Original front pose shot with sharp focus on the face. The F9 help to get the front part of the wing clear. Super shot Heather. You have a knack for sure. When I try the front shot I affraid them and they quit.
