I love the light and focus, Harold. I don't often get that close to the pair we have here.

Heather Mellon

What a great shot and beautiful image. She is one impressive looking eagle and so beautiful.

Not a feather out of place, Heather and a strong Eagle voice! Thanks!

Debra Plett

Fantastic focusing Harold. She is a beauty and surely looks like she can take care of herself.

She quite often sits in a tree across the river from my place. I call her Chowanne, after the river Chown. She used to have a mate I called Chowan but some time ago he stopped showing up. She was alone all fall and most of the winter. Now she seems to have taken another mate, smaller, but they both do a good job of clearing others out. Thank you, Debra!

Description
This female Bald Eagle is the boss of this part of the Chown river, near Masset, Haida Gwaii. She has a mate and I have seen the two of them drive many others out of the area.
