This is very beautiful.. you captured the detail and motion of this gull in flight so perfectly. Hope you get a chance to photograph those albatrosses one day soon too..

Thank you Heather for the comment - This gull was above me in the air - I have another shot taken from a Cape Breton cliff where the gull is below. Have to track it down and post it also.

Very nice focus and exposure on the wing, Bernie! Wasn't Gulliver's Travels about watching the flight of gulls. That might be my imagination.

Thank you Harold for your comments - Been a few (many) decades since I read some of Gulliver's Travels - I don't recall gulls but that may be my memory.

Description
I love watching birds, especially seagulls ,soar on the wind mastering subtle changes in wind speed and direction as they move along, seemingly free to wander at will. The 'bucket list' has an entry to witness this behavior exhibited by a southern ocean albatross, the Kings and Queens of free soaring across the planet's salty waters. Maybe someday . . . until then I will content myself with this Ring-billed Gull travelling over Lake Ontario. No regrets or disappointments; one can always travel anywhere in one's imagination.
