Thank you Isabelle.. much appreciated!

Heather, I love this capture. Great composition and colours. Nice timing catching the adult with the wings spread. I am sure there is some communication happening there.

Thank you, Debra. They're very expressive birds for sure and I wish sometimes I understood them better. The sounds they make as they communicate with one another are beautiful and unforgettable.

Very impressive shot Heather. Nature's inhabitants usualy gives you a fantastic pose to shoot.. You may have some kind of a connection whith them. The white swan look beautyful with the fall colors of the reeds in the background. I assume the signets are the grey ones.

Thank you, Yves, and yes the grey birds are the young cygnets. There were four different groups with cygnets on the marsh that evening which was great to see. Yes I do feel a deep connection to these birds especially since they've made a remarkable come back from the brink of extinction. It's hard to believe anyone would want to just kill a bird that is so beautiful and remarkable in so many ways.

Description
As I approached the marsh recently I wasn't expecting to see much since all of the summer birds have left but to my surprise and delight I found the waters almost covered with trumpeter swans. They had found the perfect spot to rest and replenish themselves and since I always try to focus on the cygnets who represent the current year's hatch I was fortunate to find several family groups to photograph here.
