Description
I shot this pretty early in the season down in the Champion area in Alberta. We were storm chasing south of Calgary after reviewing the weather models the previous night and were expecting some mediocre weather, nothing too serious. So after a few hours chasing, we noticed one of the weather network vehicles blasting past us and decided to follow. We drove maybe 100km to the south east and after punching a storm core we were greeted with a mesocyclonic supercell that looked like it was about to drop a tornado. After shooting for about 20mins we charged ahead to get ahead of the storm and were greeted with a beautiful landscape of wind turbines and grain bins and massive lightning bolts all across the sky. This was a single shot from the back end of the supercell rolling away to the east.
