Fire and Flame

Description
We were out sitting in a field near Olds for a few hours after analyzing the weather models the previous day expecting some serious weather. We sat waiting patiently for a few hours but we were thinking it may be a bust (dud day). Fortunately around 6 PM storms started to fire off of the foothills and blasted right through the cap. We chased a couple of little storms and met up with a couple of fellow chasers for a chat before things really started to take off. This storm started off as a giant squall like that developed a beautiful striated shelf cloud with pancake layers. Luckily as it turned east a gap opened up in the sky at sunset and set the sky on fire. Ii was lucky to have managed to have captured this lightning bolt too.
