I agree with Debra.. this may well be the turtle's favorite sunning spot and he wasn't about to share it :) An interesting slice of life on the marsh Yves, beautifully captured!

Cool shots and story Yves. Must have been fun to watch the competition to take over the log. Really like this final composition.

Description
At the Carbonneau marsh in Sherbrooke. The many years old turtle chased the merganser, pushing him from the bottom up to the far end of the log. I did not stay to see the end of the story. It look like predation but I still doubt turtle eat ducks.. I'd rather think it is a territorial issue. The turtle is using the log for sunbathing and don't want to share the place. I still wonder about what I saw.
