Description
I came across this massive grizzly bear; 136 better known as "split lip", on Nov 4th when I was hiking in Banff National Park. The bear was eating grains that routinely fall from trains passing through. Two trains came by & he fortunately moved out of the way in time. I ended up moving the grains off the track & later cleaned up the site with park staff. Train strikes are the leading cause of bear deaths in the area & those grains are contaminated by train pollutants further worsening things.
