Description
Shorebirds are mostly gone from the Ontario landscape. However a few are lingering, including Dunlin as shown here. Normally they are so actively feeding that it is hard to catch them sitting still long enough to get a photo. However on this occasion, a Cooper's Hawk flew into the area, and all the shorebirds immediately froze, not wanting to give themselves away. I managed to get a bit closer and used the better lighting to get this photo.
