Description
The bonding process is very important for all birds, whether they mate for life or not. This pair of Cedar Waxwings was doing the "hopping dance", which is passing a berry between them while hopping back and forth. Successfully passing the berry between them, they have accepted each other and will stay monogamous throughout the breeding season. The pair might have two broods with as many as 10 chicks altogether.
