Description
Adult male Bald Eagle skims the surface of a pond near Simcoe Ontario...This eagle is a captive one and therefore I'm not sure if it would qualify to post...however... I think its a pretty cool shot, using for the first time a Canon 100-400 version 2 telephoto lens..I have to say Im quite impressed with the lens performance..Its such a thrill to see these creatures making a strong comeback after the depletion of the species in the Sixties and Seventies from the use of DDT and other pesticides. When I was young growing up in Eastern Ontario...we NEVER saw these magnificent creatures soaring our skies...now we do and Im so grateful to be able to see and spend time with them.
