Winter of 2017 will go down for me as one of the best seasons I have ever had for GGO. Hiking into the unknown is often what I do hoping for something; my dream was realized this past season to come across 5 of them in the field in front of me, disbelief stopped me for a moment in my tracks, lifting up my binoculars confirmed that I was not dreaming. This picture shows some of the preferred landscape Great Gray Owls like and he is making sure that the other one keeps his distance.
