Description
Waking up at 2am to head into the interior regions of British Columbia, Canada to hike dry dead forests littered in pine Beatle kill. Relentless bugs forcing you to wear a bug net. We would navigate through the forest for hours with our hope of capturing the Great Gray Owl. We would walk slowly listening for the Owlets or the adult very soft single hoot. Eventually after fighting off bugs, hiking through difficult terrain we finally hear the soft hoot of the Adult Great Gray Owl. We tracked the sounds and eventually finding the female Great Gray Owl and 3 young Owlets. We photographed this majestic raptor for hours. Once we were done filling up memory cars we hiked back out to our vehicle with huge smiles on our faces, cheering and shaking each others hands for a fantastic day.
