Thanks Rypstra family :) Out here in the Chilcotin old cabins abound! When I walk through the woods and find them I cannot help but imagine what life was like when folk lived there...keeps things in perspective for me. Knowing the fella who lived here - it is great to know what it was like for him :)

Thanks Jenny :) My friend lived in this structure, which he built, until he completed the larger cabin which is 75 yards to the left of the photo. Glad you enjoyed the poem. Back when I was in the military I had a friend who wrote poems to go with his photos...maybe I will do that one day. Over the years I have written some poetry...people seem to find some pleasure in them. When I was in university I used to write songs instead of papers - when the professor allowed artistic freedom to do so ha ha. Thanks again :)

Many a trapper lived in this style of building. I really like the touch of vignette. Great poem.
