Description
I'm so use to seeing a Pied-billed's backside as they dive underwater, that when I saw this one, I was sure he'd be gone in seconds. As I set my tripod up, I kept one eye on him, surprised that he hadn't moved. He swam a short distance, undisturbed by me following him. Once I'd come to a clearing where I could get down at eye level with him, I readjusted my tripod, sure he'd be gone. I spent over an hour photographing him while he preened and ate his feathers.
