I learnt my lesson while shooting this photo!
I was driving through Riding Mountain National Park in MB when I came along a black bear in the ditch. I pulled over to take a few photos as normally in the park, the wildlife is not overly aggressive. Taking some precaution, I stayed behind my car, resting on the truck to stabilize myself. I moved one of my legs and that's when this large, Momma bear jumped at me with a large growl where I then quickly got back into my car! It was a heart pounding moment but I was sure happy to see that I had captured her on film... I suddenly realized that she had a small cub nearby which then had scooted up the tree.
Never get out of your car!
