Description
It's unusual for a Brown Thrasher to overwinter in Ontario, but this one is surviving one of the coldest Ontario winters in recent years. It has been at Lynde Shores Conservation Area in Whitby since early January. Its main diet is insects and worms but this one seems to be thriving on bird seed from the feeders. I've never seen a bird wolf down so much seed in a short period of time.
