Great Egrets have finished their nesting activities for this season, and are now showing up in good numbers away from their nesting areas, sometimes by the dozens.In Ontario Luther Marsh, Holiday Beach and the Niagara River are just three of the areas where several dozen can be seen. There are many other locations where smaller numbers are congregating at present, but those numbers will build until late September or even October before they head south.
