Thank-you Isabelle, Laura and Wally for your visits and kind comments! The touch of purple is a blue violet, flowering nearby.

well done Allen, can't say I have ever seen one like this, I have seen many in my days in Ontario, miss them out here!

Description
Red Trilliums are not uncommon across the forested landscape of eastern Canada and elsewhere. However a six-petalled one is extremely unusual. Trilliums normally have three petals and three sepals, but for some reason this oddball produced six petals! There is a provincial nature reserve called Trillium Woods just south of Woodstock, ON, that has a lot of different coloured trilliums. I came across this unusual individual in Rondeau Provincial Park, ON, this spring.
