Mourning Cloak

250 1

One of the first species of butterfly to appear in the spring is the Mourning Cloak. It overwinters as an adult, so on a warm day, it can be seen flitting about the woodlands. I observed two of these on March 29 at Rondeau Provincial Park, ON.
