I have primarily been an underwater photographer. Recently expanding my portfolio to include landscapes and wildlife. My photographic journey started many years ago. I always took that extra time to compose a picture so it would be different than the rest. When digital cameras became available, my photographic skills improved significantly. I could see the results of my photo immediately and could shoot, evaluate, adjust and reshoot until I achieved the desired effect.In 2007 I took my first underwater photo, and ever since, I wanted to share my experiences with people who have not explored the beautiful & exciting world below the surface of the ocean. I upgraded my photography equipment (underwater & above water), in 2012 and again at the end of 2018. In 2012, I spent a week taking professional lessons with Cathy Church (http://cathychurch.com/). Cathy is a world renowned photographer / educator, who specializes in underwater photography. This was the turning point for me, I started to take my photography more seriously. I have continued to learn, through working with professionals, participating in photography seminars, reading articles, and by taking countless photos above and below the water.Over the past few years I have had many people tell me that I should sell my photos, so in late 2017, I launched my website (www.kenhunterphoto.com), updated in 2021, I have been selling prints ever since. My inspiration comes from bringing the underwater world to the people that don’t experience it for themselves and secondly photographing magnificent landscape and wildlife for people to enjoy.
