About Me

I was born and raised in Oshawa, Ontario where I grew up with a love of nature and all living things. After working 29 years as a public servant I retired in 2013 to enjoy the quiet life on the horse farm I share with my husband of 32 years. Life took a 360 degree turn for me one sunny day in May 2017 when my casual interest in birds exploded into an obsession. Seeing what I later discovered was a Great Crested Flycatcher sitting in a tree led me to question what other colorful birds live in Ontario. Wanting to keep a photographic journal of every bird I could find. I taught myself the basics of photography and began to search out every species and try to capture their unique beauty. When I'm is not at the barn with my horses you will find me walking with camera in hand the shorelines, the backroads and the bogs in search of wildlife and birds to photograph.
