This unused gravel pit has become home to many geese, ducks, seagulls, osprey, cormorant, deer, coyote.... They say that these pits are becoming our new wetland areas.

Hi Sticks, yes Manitoba has some great marshes such as Oak Hammock Marsh and Delta Marsh. I believe areas like this gravel pit just outside Winnipeg are what are being discussed as the new wetlands. PS Hope you enjoyed Manitoba and thank you for the 30 years.

You must have good wetland areas in Manitoba ha ha. Up north for sure eh? I served in the army 30 years ago out there - and I remember some good stuff :)
