Hummingbird Clearwing

by Allen_Woodliffe from Chatham CA on 22 Nov 2018

The Hummingbird Clearwing is a day-flying moth. The wings have clear sections and it flies a bit like a small hummingbird, hence its name. I photographed this as it was sipping nectar from Teasel, a non-native bristly type plant found in disturbed open areas.
