Fields that had been ploughed during the fall harvest take on a radical transformation when the snow blankets the ground. Each ridge that you see here is created from farm equipment turning over the soil. In the grasslands of Alberta, the persistent winds rarely give the snow the chance to build up enough to create this landscape.
