Out trying to catch a fish today we came across 30 - yes 30 loons! This is the most I have counted at one time :)

Chris - there are so many baby Carp in this lake that they can have their fill. The Rainbow Trout in this lake, Puntzi Lake, are very elusive! It was kind of cool yesterday, as I saw spawning Kokanee Trout jumping right out of the water - as brilliant as the reddest leaf in the Chilcotin right now. I usually fish other lakes that have larger Trout to catch, but this is a magical place to come for sure :) White Pelicans are still hanging around, but they have mostly left the area. If you are lucky you might catch a glimpse of a Western Tanager out here - among the many other birds!

30 Loons in one area is impressive. They are going to reduce the fish population at that number.
