Thanks Sticks to take time commenting on my photo, first time to shoot milky way. Your opinion is great for me.

I dig it - nice shot. I do not take pictures of stars - but I am glad you do. Even though I only took Astronomy as an elective during my university studies - it was one of my favourite classes! Sometimes when I am out in the bush and end up coming back a little later than anticipated I use the stars for navigation. I pretty much know my neck of the woods, but I like to stay sharp with my skills. When I go out hiking during the day I use landmarks, when I can see them, and my watch to orientate myself in the wilderness in general. Practice makes perfect...I am getting there. The constellation Orion and his pooches is my favourite in the northern hemisphere, and the constellation Crux, The Southern Cross, is my favourite in the southern hemisphere. The stars are so amazing away from light pollution.
Thanks for the memories :)
