I know what it's like trying to catch them flying....a person could get dizzy!! I like the square frame, and the fact the bird isn't quite in the center of the photo...adds interest. Nice work, Debra.

Thanks very much Jane, yes at one point my eyes did not no which way to look.

Heather Mellon

Beautiful capture and how fortunate you were that she took a momentary pause from all the activity to pose for you. I love the ruffled look of her feathers and the detail you caught of her markings.. not to mention the eye contact. So well done!

Debra Plett

That Heather, I liked the ruffled feathers as well.

Debra Plett

That should be Thanks.

Yves Langlois

Terrific shot Debra. I like the framing you choose for the little one and the backing leaves make for a very nice compo. Well done

Debra Plett

Thanks Yves, I appreciate your comments. I thought the square crop worked the best with the branch moving diagnolly through the frame

Description
I was glad to catch this female Ruby Throated Hummingbird in a sitted position. There is probably about ten hummingbirds all chasing each other around. Crazy trying to get a pic of them zooming around. Alright I have been challenged, more pics to follow eventually.
