I love these birds and have been fortunate to see them in my yard occasionally. This fellow is such a handsome bird and he knows how to give a great pose. You captured his beauty in the nicest detail here Yves. Very well done.

Yves Langlois

Yes Heather, when the subject cooperate like that it is a real delight to play the photographer. Out of 12 shots (different angle, different lighting) 3 were to my satisfaction. I choose that one for the bright red and the sparkle in the eye. I hope you viewed it with the zoom option (better lighting)

Debra Plett

Terrific shot Yves another great composition. I don’t encounter these birds very often at all. They sure are a gorgeous bird and he gave you a wonderful pose. I like the bokeh, how are you liking the new camera, lens and teleconverter.

Yves Langlois

Thank you Debra. So far I realy appreciate the 800mm in the field and the lost of apperture is well managed by the camera. The manual focus has a kind of intelligent processing to help me but I have to get used to it. I do have a big problem which I try to solve with the help of a specialist. All the bokehs are blured. We don't know actualy what causes that .

Jane LeBlanc

Nice, Yves. Isn't it great when they pose? I wish warblers would do that!!!

Yves Langlois

Hi Jane! your comment is much appreciated. Yes, it is so out of the ordinary that I tank Mother Nature for the gift. The warbler may not think of doing that, but Mother Nature can manage for the bird to do it just to please me.. Tomorrow I will present the elusive Tennessee warbler in a blossom tree. Quite an exciting moment too.
