I enjoy hiking around the Ottawa River and local wetland areas and photographing the various waterfowl species, along with other wildlife I might come across. One of the most easily recognizable birds in Ontario is the mallard duck. A lot of people don’t generally give them a second glance because of how common they are, but I find the male mallards quite beautiful with their bold iridescent green heads. Even with the little smudge of mud on the tip of his bill in this photo, he’s still such a stunning bird.
