Hi Jane. Truthfully, I never felt any danger. He never showed any signs of anxiety or anger. He was very mellow and also full of Salmon. I do thank you.

Yves Langlois

Gorgeous catch Jenny. Very beautyful pose and lighting. The guy look healthy and fat for the long winter. I just imagine the thrill of being that close and expecting everything to be OK..

Hi Yves. It actually happens quite a bit. They are used to the boats after years of seeing them, so we are more of a curiosity than danger. Yes, it is thrilling to be that close.....thank you

Heather Mellon

An awesome close up Jenny! What a powerful looking bear he is too.. super capture.

Jenny Stevens

He was gorgeous and not all torn up like some of the males. Perhaps he is still young enough not to fight for the female. He looked big enough!!!!!

Debra Plett

Jenny, seeing him up this close would be pretty intimidating if one didn’t have all the experience with them that you and the guides have. Wonderful lighting and details on this big guy.

Thank you Debra. At the Lodge we have to be very bear aware as they wander all over the grounds, especially at night.

Description
People often ask how close I get to Grizzly Bears! Well, this fellow is darn close. His whole body would not fit in the frame. For some reason the bears want a closer look at us, in curiosity and not threatening in any way. Our guide was using oars, but he soon started the motor !
