Like very much the composition you made here. Include those orange packs of seeds realy compliments the jay and its branch.

Thank you Yves. The jay was in the shadow and I had some difficulty getting a decent focus on him with the wind moving those branches but it was a fun shot and I especially like the blue background sky.

Beautiful composition Heather. You have framed the fluffy Jay nicely between the branches and the lighting makes the feathers and colours pop. Very nicely captured.

Thanks Debra, always appreciated. I waited for a while for this opportunity since most of them are pretty flighty. I guess the cold wind is what slowed this fellow down :)

Clifford Dupuis

Great shot Heather, These guys looks so awesome with the feathers fluffed up. Very nice

Heather Mellon

Thank you Clifford. They do don't they, and they add some welcome colour to the landscape at this time of year. Thanks for you comment on the photo I decided to discard a few days ago too, it was much appreciated.

Description
A blue jay waits patiently with feathers fluffed for his turn at the feeder on a chilly November day. The seed pods on this old black ash tree await the return of the pine grosbeaks when the weather turns colder.
