I too am a fan of the foreground. Those grasses are spectacular leading into your subject. Fine looking buck, nice and healthy.

I really appreciate your comment Jenny. I haven’t seen an unhealthy deer yet this fall. Hopefully they all have a good winter. Thx again.

Very well captured Debra. I really like how the trees and tall grasses frame the buck in this lovely setting and he certainly is a striking fellow. Such a beautiful image and an interesting glimpse into the lives of these deer also.

Debra Plett

Thank you so much Heather. I love watching the wildlife interact with each other. I was lucky that he showed himself and then paused for a short moment.

Geeee! what a great shot Debra. Good that you know a place with so beautyful subjects. Glad you like to follow your subjects to know them better. This buck sure is a star and he stands out so well with its natural colours. I don't know how you manage to get that amazing effect with the grasses and snow but it gives the buck a very special boost..

Debra Plett

Thanks very much for your kind comments Yves. I don’t believe I am doing anything special. It is the nature of that type of field grass when the sun is shining and there is some ice crystals in the air. I like the way the grasses shimmer as well.

Yves Langlois

Hard to explain it but for me it is less about doing someting and more about beeing in the nature (beeing the nature). Like we would do being with a very good friend.

Debra Plett

Well said Yves.

You are so lucky with this herd of deer, they seem to know you are there to get awesome pics of them and they don't mind. Well done with nice detail and composition.

Debra Plett

Thx very much Clifford. The bucks are so elusive that the only time you see them in the open is if they are tracking or chasing a doe. I believe we are in the height of the rut season now.

Clifford Dupuis

Yes you are probably right Debra, ... Love is in the Air

Description
This white-tailed buck had been hiding in the bush while I was busy taking a picture of the doe. He ran past me and chased the doe into the bush where he nicely stood and posed for a minute.
