The pov was just right for this sunset and I had to pull off of the highway onto a side road to get the full view. Took a few minutes but it was well worth it.

Debra Plett

Very very special capture Heather. It looks like a painting. The smoke really seems to change the mood and I love the darker ring around the edge of the sun. The winding road through the countryside to the sunset is one of those calming images to be enjoyed with a good friend.

Thank you so much Debra, always appreciated. And I agree, it does have a painterly look about it, which only makes it better :)

Clifford Dupuis

very nicely captured. The smoke is a definite asset for some great photo ops and you have seized the opportunity here so well. All the elements in the image compliment each other, particularly the leading line. Great shot

Heather Mellon

Thank you Clifford, much appreciated. It's one of the few times I appreciate having a highway in the view, but I like how the bend in the road lent itself to this shot. The colours of this sunset were especially nice and I'm just glad I caught that sun in time.

Yves Langlois

So glad you noticed the beautyness and special mood of that scenery. The foreground tree line and the curved road that lead to the sun is meaningful. A plain sky couldn't be better to accompany that nice sun. Good timing of the twilight. Like it very nuch.

Heather Mellon

Thank you so much Yves. It's a view I'm familiar with but not so much with a hazy sunset and I've come to appreciate that bend in the road. It provides an interesting foreground view at times.

Description
Although the smoky haze from wildfires isn't welcome it does bring out the best in a sunset. I spotted this one from my car just before it was about to disappear behind the hill.
