Thank you very much Jeff. I am lucky that one of my favorite trail is now part of his territory.

I can imagine the excitement as the eagle came into range and was positioned nicely to get these series of shots showing off his imposing demeanor. Very nice timing, the burst mode worked good for you.

Excited I was for sure. I had an opportunity to test the burst mode, see its limits and when it can be useful.

Heather Mellon

Great view of that impressive wing span and the expression on his face shows that he means business. Very nice series Yves and I enjoyed the narrative too.

Hi Heather. I know that the bald eagle is an usual photo on this site, but for me it was a long time expected encounter. The scenario could not be more amazing, and so close to me.. I did not have to create the story, just describe what happened.

Description
Big bald eagle coming in to dislodge a juvenile from his territory. The juvenile would like to establish in this part of the Magog river. As soon as the juvenile perched on the dead tree close to me the big boss took flight from the opposite side of the river and he is now approaching to chase the young intruder. This shot was taken in burst mode (which for my camera is 1/500 - f8) . Sharpness is not as good but at least it gives fair shots. Following the action in usual single mode shooting (1/1500 - f8) would have probabily result in no good shots at all.
