Heather Mellon

Very nice composition and detail in this shot. You get the feeling that something's up as they focus very intently on the unseen element. A really beautiful and intriguing capture Debra.

Debra Plett

I am not sure if the ducks were bothered with all the thunder or if in fact there was something they were watching out on the water. I thought it made a cute shot. Thanks for your comments Heather.

Jenny Stevens

I get a nostalgic feeling from the shot. I feel these ladies are waiting for their mates to come home from the sea. Lovely balance to the shot.

Debra Plett

Yes it does make one think they are waiting for their mates to arrive home. Thank you Jenny.

Yves Langlois

Very nice capture of the moment with those ladies. Look to me that they are looking at a break in the clouds far away on the horizon. Thay don't feel in a hurry to go fishing in that weather.

Debra Plett

Thanks very much Yves feedback always appreciated. You are correct they seem to have made this dock their home, however if a human approaches or is close by they will take off in a flash.

Jeff

another great shot the lines and you have them on the point looking out nieces

Debra Plett

Thanks very much Jeff, I was lucky to get this close.

Clifford Dupuis

great shot. It looks like these three are sixing up the whole situation before making a decision

Debra Plett

Thanks Clifford, If just one of them feels uneasy they are all gone in an instant. I think the weather was bringing the minnows closer to the surface.

Description
Female Mergansers looking to take cover as a storm settles in for most of the day. These ladies are very difficult to get close to. I think the thunder was covering up my approach which allowed me to get a picture of the three socializing before takeoff.
