Wow, stunning bird and stunning capture Yves. I love the detail and colour. I really like this location it makes for a pleasing composition a great place for the birds to strut their stuff. Beautiful.

Yves Langlois

Thanks you for the nice comments Debra. I turn it back to you with your osprey family's nest. Knowing the place and the subject éliminate a big part of the the hazard from the equation. Shots are more intense and successful.

Heather Mellon

I love to see them drying their wings this way and you captured this one perfectly. Excellent composition and detail, the iridescent blue tones on his plumage show very nicely here. What a beautiful capture Yves.

Yves Langlois

Thanks for the nice comment Heather, much appreciated. It is one bird that I like to shoot, and they are doing a good show.

Jeff

Good he real showing of great detailing

Yves Langlois

Thank you Jeff. Mother Nature is 50% responsible for the perfect detailing and color. Even with the proper setup on the camera and the right timing, The right lighting and pose of the bird is needed. And that is not under my control. But Mother Nature is on my side.

Clifford Dupuis

What a nice shot Yves. This image captures the beauty and detail in the wings against a subtle backdrop. Well composed with great timing.

Yves Langlois

Thanks Clifford. Hope you looked at it with the zoom option. It double the beauty of détails and color. I love the deep blue shining they get at the mating season.

Description
That left over concrete just next to the dam is the prefered spot for cormorants to dry up and sunbathing after a good meal.
