Thanks, I enjoyed watching these ducks.

Wow! better be proud of that one Debra. The pose of the bird is unique and spectacular. And the 1/2000 aperture make it to freeze the action with great details. The drop of water in mid air, the feathers of the wings and the sparkle in the eye. Magic.

Debra Plett

Thank you Yves, I didn’t realize at the time of taking the picture that the water splash would look so interesting. I was trying to sneak up on the birds and catch a picture of them sleeping. when they started to move I quickly adjusted camera to try and catch the mergansers in motion.

Heather Mellon

An awesome flight shot Debra, and I absolutely love the profile of the merganser that you captured so beautifully here. Great water motion and reflections too.

Debra Plett

Thanks Heather. I am hoping on my next visit the baby ducks are out and and about.

Description
While walking down to the dock I interrupted this female merganser sleeping. She and another female decided it was time to take flight for another bay.
