A good nesting place

Yves the grasses are just as beautiful as the goose. The light is shimmering off of the golden hues. The Canada Goose stands proud and alert. Very nice composition Yves.

Thanks for the nice comments Debra. Agree with you all the way. The surrounding nature could be the real subject. here. Certainly one of my best one. And I understand better how to do it now.

Good one every thing works so good

Thank you Jeff.

Thank you Heather. I am always a bit emotional when a shot turns to be more a piece of art than a photo. The standing white cattails, some red bushes here and there, the yellow or cream dead grasses, all that is so amazing to my eye. And I realise I was granted to see just a timeslice. In a week or two all that will be changed to green .

The tall dead grasses frame the goose perfectly and provide a very pleasing contrast in tones and textures. I love the pose you caught here, it appears like he or she is on the lookout for someone or maybe checking for a good nesting site. Beautifully captured in every detail, Yves.

the Canada goose makes it great on water. That I know. But the iconic bird is as beautyful in the various colours and textures of the marsh's dead grasses. (Use the zoom for a better looking image)
