Nicely captured Heather. A pretty side pose has captured the eye and the bird very nice. The marsh grasses also add some nice texture to the image.
Thank you so much Debra.. I got another one of him eating some grass that I actually prefer but chose the slightly sharper image to upload instead. It's hard to choose sometimes..
Like that one Heather. I would say this is not a bright attractive colour bird but the way you composed it makes the shot interesting. The dark blue colour of the water well ballances the bird's black one.
I agree, they're not so easy to photograph yet they are a bird that I really enjoy coming across. I love their dark red eyes and that sense of a perpetual smile they have. They seldom pause long enough for a good shot but this fellow seemed quite friendly :) Thank you so much, Yves.
