Lovely close up shot Yves, sharp focus really brings out the detail lace work in the wings. Fabulous shooting.Nice to see summer shots while we are in this deep freeze.

Thank you Debra. This was shot in the last part of the summer. After being told by a pro that if the light is good there was no problem to push the ISO to 1600 or 3200. That allow me to push the apperture between 14 to 24 for macro shots.

The colours in the foreground contrast very well against the white background and the detail on the dragonfly and flower buds is exquisite. The pose you captured here makes for a truly uplifting and beautiful image, Yves.

Thank you Heather. The little red dragonfly is quite abundant here and it might not be a gorgeous model but it is the one I like to shoot because of the variety of pose it presents to me.

So far the red dragonfly is the only one I know that take that praying monk pose. Can't resist taking the shot with lots of care not to disturb the ascetic. Enclosed within its wings, uplifted to higher world by swirling inner thoughts. Taken at the Drummond dam on the Magog river.
