Very nice capture Yves. And I totally agree with you that they're a challenge to photograph unless you catch them off guard but you did a great job on this one with a great pose and feather detail too. I got a flight shot of a flock of these birds last summer, maybe it's time to upload it.

They'r interesting littlle bird. I make a point to know them better next summer and get better shots at them. Lot of pleasure to come.

You have nice lighting Yves which really helps to show off the feather detail and the colours. Nicely focused with a bit of action. I had a starling take over one of my purple Martin homes and he was quite the challenge to photograph.

Thank you so much Debra. I am glad that your encounter with the sterling was about the same as me. Hope to give more shots next summer.

Description
Black feathers birds are chalenging. Not easy to get details. But iridescence of their feathers often offers surprising reflection colours. The little starling adds to that by being quick to quit when approached and he is quite a nightmare to catch in flight. One of my chalenges for the next summer. Taken last summer at the Drummond dam on the Magog river.
