Beautiful depth to this image Bernie. From the boulders in the foreground, the river leading ones eye through to the mountains. Looks great in b and w.

Nicely composed and the B&W emphasises the weather

Like that one very much Bernie. Very good perspective with the big boulders and the line of dark tree on the left side.

Description
I don't post many B&W shots, but some images demand that treatment, especially those taken on 'black and white days' such as was the case here. The sun was a pale yellow blob hidden behind thick clouds which were beginning to drop their loads of snow on the distant hills; the water was becoming ever darker and the little bit of color given to it by the sun was soon going to be gone, lost in the snowstorm. There are many, many "North Rivers" but for me this is the real one - just a few clicks off the Cabot Trail northward through the community of North River Bridge and you will find a parking area for your vehicle. Stop and explore this little corner of Cape Breton Island. Follow the trail upriver to the "Big Falls". Time for lunch!
