Hi Debra & Yves, I got a reply to my email today from the website. They use a third-party moderation software that is supposed to weed out uploads like that but missed the mark on both the latest two and the burka ads. I referred to the burka ads in my original email too, so hopefully they have also been removed. I mentioned today that it concerned me that members are leaving the site over these very blatant and distasteful ads. So hopefully they will find a way to keep them off the site.

So I am back. I deeply thank you both on the team effort. I was sure they where making money out of it and it would become worst. I was wrong. My camera is asleep for the winter but I may find some last shot s to close the season. Very nice this new avatar ID Debra.

Glad you are back Yves, I will try not to put up too many white-tailed deer pictures. I am still hoping to get that awesome buck picture.

Debra Plett

Thank you Heather for everything. It sounds like they are going to try to put better controls in place. I did notice that the images from this weekend are gone.

You're welcome Debra. We used to have the same problem on another photo website I once belonged to so it's not uncommon, unfortunately, and I'm sure that Cangeo is working on the situation.

Yves Langlois

Debra, search for the word wear. It will bring you all the advertising those guy have done so far. On the top first ones you will see advertising for burkas. the pink one has a comment. Read it and you will understand why I have to stay away. Not good for my hart and sole.

Debra Plett

Thanks Yves, I will check it out. I totally understand and am waiting to see if Cangeo will take action against content like this. About 6 months ago I took out a membership with the journal of wildlife photography. I am very happy with the publication as well they have a Facebook group and a lot of very good contests. So far I have not been active on the Facebook group just reading the articles but I may switch from Cangeo to the Facebook group. I will let you know my final decision.

Excellent capture, Debra. You caught him in a wonderful pose with very nice eye contact and the lighting is perfect. Such a beautiful shot. It upsets me too that some people think they can upload whatever content they want to on a site like this. I sent an email about my concerns yesterday. It's especially upsetting when it drives members like Yves away.

Debra Plett

Thanks Heather for your comments always appreciated. I am glad you feel the same way. No one should feel like they have to quit Cangeo because of inappropriate content. I am waiting to see what action will be taken by Cangeo before I make a decision to quit. I joined a group called the journal of wildlife photography about 6 months ago. I have not been active with their Facebook group up to this point but I may move my focus to the journal.

Wow! very beautyful compo on that one Debra. The foreground have just that perfect opening to frame the buck and the lighting is concentrate in that round opening. Must be a happy moment for you. For me the photo club has now gone from bad to worst. A 6 points buck next to a call girl service advertising is not someting I will tollerate. I quit. Because you kindly commented my shots all the summer I will comment yours in the winter. Not interested any more to put my best shots on the site.

Debra Plett

Thanks for your comments Yves they are always appreciated. I was surprised and shocked to see that someone had submitted content like that to this website. I would expect that Cangeo will take some sort of action to have it removed.

Jeff

Wo you got a buck nices one Grat shot 6 pont the framing and back grownd is grat a big boy i hop know one shoots him

Debra Plett

Thank you Jeff, he should be safe as long as he stays in the park. Only danger would be from the traffic.

Description
I am sharing both pictures as I like # 1 for the small area of lighting that the buck had almost moved into. He didn't give me much of a chance to get the picture before he darted off into the bush and eventually across the road after a couple of does. In shot number 2 he was kind enough to give me this great pose and a stare before taking off.
